David Hagberg

David Hagbergis an American author of spy and suspense fiction who has produced over 60 books in the last 30-plus years, many of which have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list and have been published in more than 25 languages. Hagberg's writing career began in 1988 with the publication of his first novel, Countdown. Since then, Hagberg has written stories in a variety of genres ranging from science fiction and horror to mystery and suspense. However, his most popular series is unquestionably his Kirk McGarvey novels, which feature a retired CIA director as a small town sheriff in upstate New York and have sold over four million copies worldwide.

Kristin Gabriel was born in Sacramento, California. She attended college in the Bay Area before completing her degree at UC Berkeley in creative writing and screenwriting. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including, the Society of American Travel Writers Award, the Bram Stoker Award, and the San Francisco Chronicle Fiction Prize.

Hagberg was born in 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota where he grew up. After completing high school, he entered the U.S. Navy and served a tour of duty in Vietnam during the war. Following his service, he studied journalism at the University of Minnesota, but then dropped out and started writing professionally at the age of 21.

Hagberg has written more than 60 books over the years, all of which have been met with great success and popularity amongst readers. In addition to the Kirk McGarvey series, some of his other long-running series include The Joshua Kelly Novels, Abyss, and The Troy Pearce Series. Hagberg has also served as a scriptwriter for CBS Cable's The Equalizer and Unsolved Mysteries.

A number of Hagberg's novels have been adapted for film and television, including Act of War (1994), starring Alec Baldwin and Brian Dennehy, and Countdown (1996). Hagberg's novels are said to be especially gripping due to his strong plotting, realistic characters, and attention to detail. His characters are often some of the most interesting and well-developed in the suspense genre and have been the source of great inspiration for aspiring writers.
